The wedding day of Sammy + Sean was one I’ll always remember! These two have such a beautiful love story and union that still brings tears to my eyes! They met online and it just goes to show you that God can work in many ways in our lives and brings us gifts in such unique ways! 

The days they got married in Omaha, Nebraska, there was much anticipation and excitement from friends + family and the first time Sean saw his Sammy was so sweet before the alter.  During their ceremony they spent a time before one another promising and committing their lives to one another and washed one another’s feet as a symbol of love.

Sammy said  “For our first act as man and wife we decided we wanted to wash each other’s feet as an act of service towards one another. 

In the days that Jesus walked the earth, washing someone else’s feet was a job saved for lowly people or slaves. But Jesus knelt down in front of his followers and washed their feet and instructed them to continue to serve people after that. If Jesus Christ is willing to unconditionally serve His followers in such a lowly task, His followers should be willing to perform even the most uncomfortable tasks for each other. If Jesus isn’t too good to wash someone’s dirty feet we aren’t too good to do it either. 

It’s so show that we are humbling ourselves to serve each other and we will continue to serve each other during our marriage. We choose to die to ourselves so that our marriage can flourish.”

These two have flourished and I am so excited to see what God continues to do in their lives and through their love! 

Also, a huge shout out of gratitude to my sweet Matthew for helping me carry around bags all day and take pictures of these two. He’s pretty wonderful.
